Bishop Francis Leo of Montreal will be installed as the next Archbishop of Toronto during a special Mass and ceremony to take place on the Solemnity of the Annunciation, Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica in downtown Toronto.

On February 11, 2023, Pope Francis announced the appointment of the archbishop-designate, who will succeed Cardinal Thomas Collins, who has served as Archbishop of Toronto since 2007.

Given capacity restrictions at the cathedral, it is expected that participation will be limited to invited guests only. The ceremony will be live-streamed. Plans are also underway for a series of welcome events in various regions of the Archdiocese of Toronto, allowing the faithful an opportunity to meet the new archbishop.

Additional details regarding the installation and welcome events will be released in the coming days. We continue to pray for Archbishop-designate Leo and Cardinal Collins.
