To all clergy and staff of the Archdiocese of Toronto,

Jim Milway has indicated his desire to retire from the Archdiocese of Toronto as he approaches the end of his second term as Chancellor of Temporal Affairs.

I have appreciated his many valuable contributions to the Archdiocese as well as his advice to me in this important role. Over the past 10 years, Jim has provided extraordinary leadership over many major projects including the renovation of St. Michael’s Cathedral Basilica, the success of the Family of Faith campaign, introducing the Parish Purchasing Program and guiding us safely through the Covid-19 pandemic.

While Jim’s term officially ends on July 2, he has agreed to stay on until a successor is in place. An executive search committee has been selected to find the next Chancellor of Temporal Affairs for the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Yours in Christ,
Thomas Cardinal Collins
Archbishop of Toronto
