The Catholic Near East Welfare Association (CNEWA) and Salt+Light will bring you stories of hope from Middle Eastern Christians during a special broadcast on Thursday, December 10, 2020 starting at 8 p.m.

This broadcast will educate us about how Christians in the Middle East continue to live out their Gospel mission despite the terrible persecution they experience. And it will explore how we can help them to continue to live faithful Christian lives under these difficult circumstances.

This hour-long production will feature on-the-ground stories of Christian living in Armenia, Egypt, Gaza, Jordan and Lebanon. There will be musical performances in Arabic, Aramaic, English and French throughout the program. And Cardinal Thomas Collins, Archbishop of Toronto, will participate in a panel discussion on the state of Christianity in the Middle East.

You can watch the special on Thursday, December 10 at 8 p.m. on Salt+Light TV or livestreamed on the CNEWA Facebook page.

This special broadcast temporarily replaces the annual fundraising dinner that has been co-sponsored by the Archdiocese of Toronto for the past five years. Through these dinners we have together raised tens of thousands of dollars for Middle Eastern Christians and it would be excellent if we kept that giving spirit alive during this very difficult year.

CNEWA is a papal agency and registered charity in Canada. It has been helping Eastern Catholic churches throughout the Middle East, Northeast Africa, India and Eastern Europe since it was founded by Pope Pius XI in 1926.
