Volunteering for Youth Ministry

“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.” - St. Teresa of Avila

When it comes to ministry, one person can't do it alone. Jesus sent out His disciples in pairs. We need the support of others on this journey. This is especially so for Youth Ministry. Here at St. John the Evangelist we have an excellent team of volunteers who offer the relational aspect of ministry to the youth entrusted to us. They are there to share stories and laughs with the youth. They are in the high schools promoting ministry to their peers. Without volunteers the ministry could not run. Currently we are in the midst of a pandemic and online ministry seems to be all that we can do, however, as things begin opening up we will be needing more support for ministry as we grow in our activities on and off the parish property.

Please take time to prayerfully consider how you may be able to support the youth ministry with any of your time and talent. All volunteers for the youth ministry must go through the volunteer screening process.
